I started out in newspapers, and they still have a very special place in my heart. For all that designers strive to be allowed to design the big splashy pages and openers, there's nothing quite like the focus and skill needed to craft a detailed, busy page that brings the reader in, and keeps them there. I've done literally thousands of such pages, from tabloid newspapers, through weekly lifestyle sections, to monthly magazines. Here's a tiny sample of that work.
