When COVID struck New York City, we were one of the great many families who stayed. When I ventured out, I took my camera, in the hope that the pictures I took would be a reminder of the times we lived through. When I was approached by the curators of a HarperCollins coffee-table book, asking if they could use one of my images, I was happy to oblige. The photo (above left) was taken in the Wall Street Distract of Manhattan, and shows what would in normal times have been a bustling pre-Holiday plaza. Instead, there was a single security guard and a lonely tree. The book – The Year Time Stopped – came out in Summer 2022 at #1 in the new release charts.
